If you just want it to browse the internet that;ll be a excellent buy. Why not save up money and get a laptop instead? an HP dv series is about $579. 99. You get not 8gb but 200GB of space Plus many other features.
I own an asus eeepc, many people reckon that they are toys cos they are so small, but I place XP on it and it is brilliant once your on the go. It is still really cheap for the base model, light and compact and has a excellent battery life. eBay has a fantastic range of extra bits you can add like more ram or a touch screen.
